Bridalplasty: Plastic Surgery to Prepare for the Big Day

After seeing several articles and new stories about Bridalplasty recently, I thought it might be appropriate to ask our surgeons about their thoughts on the procedure. "Bridalplasy," or plastic surgery requested by brides in anticipation of their wedding day, can include any number of plastic surgery procedures from tummy tucks, to liposuction, nose reshaping, Botox or other filler injections or even microdermabrasion treatments. Many times Bridalplasty includes several procedures at the same time, and some brides even spend more money on bridalplasy plastic surgery than on their entire wedding.

I asked Dr. Daniel Sherick his thoughts on this trend.
"I have certainly had patients who have come in for rhinoplasty, liposuction, or breast augmentation operations in anticipation of their weddings. All of these patients have had long standing concerns about various body features that were present long before they became brides. It is certainly appropriate to address these issues for life long happiness. I want to caution Brides, and patients in general to give themselves enough time to recover from procedures scheduled before such important life events as weddings. Also, make sure that your motivations including a real desire to change some aspect of your appearance for yourself, and not just so that the photos will be perfect in your wedding album."
I like Dr. Sherick's final statement - To have plastic surgery for yourself! For the perfect wedding photo album pictures I suggest the many filters and Photoshop techniques available.
