Proper Hydration for Great Skin & Perfect Health

Now that the weather is changing and furnaces are turning on you might be noticing itchy, dry skin. This time of the year, now more than ever it's important to protect your body with proper hydration. Creams and lotions are good. They seal in moisture and prevent dryness, however let's consider hydration from the inside out!

Generally speaking you should consume 8-8 ounce glasses of water a day, however if you are overweight, additional water may be needed to flush everything from your body and keep you hydrated. I collected a few images from Pinterest I thought were especially helpful, and here are some tips to help you remember to drink your water!

1) Rubber bands - They aren't just for binding things  together, they can also be used on water bottles, on a glass or even worn on your wrist. Start the day by wearing 8 of them or wrapping them on your water bottle, then as you drink 8 ounces remove one rubber band!

2) Water bottles - Use 8 refillable water bottles and stock them in the refrigerator  find water bottles with measurements marked on the side or create your own measured water bottles with colorful tape and Sharpies. Mark the bottle with times throughout the day when you should have consumed that much water! You'll be surprised at how easy it is to drink when you are presented with a huge water vessel.

3) Drink a glass immediately upon waking up and directly before bed. That's two down! Then don't eat a meal without a glass of water! Guess what you now have consumed 5 glasses for the day - Three more and you are set!

Drinking water certainly can help keep us healthy and fit, but it can also improve brain function, bodily functions and improve the way we look and feel. Feeling a little bloated, then drink up. Hydration helps keep our bodies slim too. Feeling a bit fatigued or under the weather, let's flush out those toxins and drink up. Whatever your reason, there is no bad reason to drink your water. So grab a glass and take a guzzle. You'll be glad that you did!
